Description
The history of Shell dates back to 1833, when a London shopkeeper, Marcus Samuel, began selling oriental shells in his antiques shop.
Some 50 years later, Marcus Samuel’s sons had developed the shop into a thriving import/export business, and they began exporting bulk shipments of oil from Russia, via the Suez Canal.
In 1897, the brothers named their oil business the Shell Transport and Trading Company. Separately, the Dutch formed the Royal Dutch Petroleum Company, with oilfields in the Far East. In 1907, the two companies merged to form the Royal Dutch Shell Group.
Today Shell is a multinational oil and gas company that produces roughly 3.1 million barrels of oil equivalent per day. It employs over 93,000 people in 70 countries and, based on revenue, is the seventh largest company in the world.
Shell is the world’s leading supplier of lubricants for the automotive and other industries. Its product range, which is distributed in over 100 countries across the globe, includes oils for car and motorcycle engines, as well as heavy-duty diesel engine oils for truck engines.
Shell motor oils don’t just lubricate moving parts. They also help clean a vehicle’s engine, prevent corrosion, improve sealing and cool the engine by conducting heat away from moving parts.
At Masterparts, we’re proud to stock a range of high-quality Shell Helix motor oils.
