With headquarters in France, Total S.A. is one of the seven largest oil and gas companies in the world. It's also a significant chemical manufacturer.

Total was established in 1924 as a purely French oil company, called the Compagnie Française des Pétroles (CFP). Initially the CFP focused exclusively on oil exploration and production. In 1954, however, it introduced a downstream product – the Total brand of gasoline – in Europe and Africa.

In 1985, the company was rebranded as Total CFP, and in 1991, it changed its name to just Total. In the same year, it was listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

Total is known for its sponsorship of auto racing teams in events ranging from Formula One races to the World Rally Championship, Dakar Rally, World Touring Car Championship, Intercontinental Rally Challenge, 24 Hours of Le Mans, Intercontinental Le Mans Cup and Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. It also regularly supplies fuel and lubricants to professional auto racing teams.

At Masterparts, we're proud to stock a range of Total motor oils.
