Hastings Manufacturing Company was founded in Hastings, Michigan in 1915.
For over a century, it has been specialising in engineering and manufacturing piston rings.

Hastings produces in the region of 15,000 different piston ring designs, with rings suitable for just about all engine types and applications.
In 1956, the company invented the multi-piece Hastings oil control ring, followed by the Flex-Vent® expander. This has become the accepted oil ring standard.
The ring’s design allows for rails with smaller, cross-sectional areas, suitable for the bores in modern low-tension engines. The expander provides uniform pressure through two rails and ensures positive oil control.
