Masterparts stock a wide variety of crankshafts.
The crankshaft, sometimes casually abbreviated to ‘crank’, is the part of an engine which translates reciprocating linear piston motion into rotation.
To convert the reciprocating motion into rotation, the crankshaft has “crank throws” or “crankpins”, (bearing surfaces) whose axis is offset from that of the crank centre, to which the “big ends” of the connecting rods from each cylinder attach.
Your crankshaft has been built to withstand immense pressure, but stress may lead to either bending or twisting.
If you suspect damage to your crankshaft, or are rebuilding your engine, speak to a Masterparts advisor to find the best part at the best value for your application.
