Description
Based in France, Valeo is a multinational, independent group that designs, manufactures and sells a wide range of automotive parts. As a technology company, Valeo proposes innovative products and systems that contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions and to the development of intuitive driving.
Valeo was founded in Paris in 1923, as the Société Anonyme Française de Ferodo. It began by selling brake linings and clutch facings under license.
In the 1960s, the company began manufacturing its own automotive braking and thermal systems. It subsequently added lighting and electrical systems.
In 1980, the company was renamed Valeo, and it embarked on a programme of rapid international expansion.
Today Valeo is divided into four main business groups, dealing respectively with thermal systems, visibility systems, powertrain systems and “comfort and driving assistance” systems.
